Today’s client story is special for many reasons. First of all, to prepare the case study we met with our long time friends whose volunteers and staff help make our home, Aotearoa New Zealand a safe and caring place. Meet Neighbourhood Support New Zealand – a nationwide community-led movement that brings people and neighbourhoods together to create safe, resilient and connected communities.
Neighbourhood Support are a registered charity that since 1999 have been working alongside New Zealand Police and other partners to equip neighbourhoods to improve safety, be prepared for emergencies and support one another so that our communities are great places to live. As a network of Neighbourhood Support community organisations, their members span all 12 Police Districts and currently support over 200,000 households and counting across the country.
It is an honour for infoodle to be supporting various branches on NSNZ in their work.
The second reason why this client story is special is because we are trying a new format – video! Kathy had spent 10 very rewarding years working in the community development world for local government before her focus shifted towards building community organisations. Community organisations are of huge benefit for NZ communities and the work they do for their clients, their efforts in building up social wellbeing and their contribution to the economy are incredibly valuable.
